BrahmiX Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the BrahmiX browser and the brahmix.com website handle, and why. BrahmiX is made by Two Quarters Sdn Bhd (company no. 202401001040 (1546891-H)) ("we", "us"), a company registered in Malaysia, at A-3-6, Block A, Pelangi Damansara, PJU 6, Persiaran Surian, Pusat Perdagangan Pelangi, 47800 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
The short version
- BrahmiX has no BrahmiX account and sends no usage statistics. Crash reports are sent only if you agree (you are asked once, and can change it in Settings).
- Your browsing history, passwords, bookmarks and other browser data are stored on your computer and are not sent to us.
- Translation happens on your computer. The pages you translate are not sent to a translation server.
- The Hub opens other companies' websites (such as ChatGPT or WhatsApp). BrahmiX never reads your chats and never sends messages for you. Only text you choose moves between a page and the Hub.
- A few features contact other services to work, explained below: update checks (us), dangerous-site protection and some browser components (Google), and the search engine you use.
1. Information stored on your computer
Like any browser, BrahmiX keeps your history, bookmarks, saved passwords, form entries, cookies, downloads list, settings and the sign-ins of the websites you use, including the services in the Hub. This data stays in your BrahmiX profile on your computer. BrahmiX has no sync service, so it is not copied to us or anyone else. You can delete it at any time in Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data.
2. What BrahmiX sends, to whom, and why
2.1 Update checks (to us)
To keep you safe, BrahmiX checks for a new version a few minutes after it
starts and every few hours, by downloading a small file from
updates.brahmix.com, and downloads the new installer when there is one.
These requests contain no personal information or identifiers beyond what
every internet request carries (your IP address and the BrahmiX version in
the request). The files are served by Cloudflare, Inc. on our behalf;
Cloudflare may keep short-lived technical logs. We do not keep logs of these
requests ourselves; we only see overall numbers, such as how many times a file
was downloaded, which do not identify you.
2.2 Protection from dangerous websites (Google Safe Browsing)
BrahmiX downloads lists of known dangerous websites (phishing, malware, unwanted software) from Google Safe Browsing and checks the pages you visit against these lists on your computer. Only when a page partly matches an entry does BrahmiX ask Google to confirm, by sending a short, shortened code (a partial "hash") derived from the address, not the address itself. Google's handling of this is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can turn this protection off in Settings → Privacy and security → Security, though we recommend keeping it on.
2.3 Browser components (Google)
Like other browsers built on Chromium, BrahmiX downloads some security and feature components from Google's component update service, for example certificate revocation lists, and the language packs for on-device translation (downloaded once per language, the first time you translate it). If you turn on spell check, BrahmiX downloads its dictionaries from Google. These downloads do not include your browsing activity.
2.4 Search (the search engine you choose)
What you type in the address bar is sent to your search engine when you search, and, while you type, to show suggestions. The default search engine is Google; you can change it in Settings → Search engine, and turn suggestions off there. The search engine's own privacy policy applies.
2.5 The Hub
The Hub shows other companies' websites (such as BrahmAI, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, WhatsApp, Telegram, Gmail and Outlook, and websites you add). They are loaded directly from those companies, exactly as in a tab, and their own privacy policies and terms apply to what you do there.
- BrahmiX never reads what these services show or what you type into them.
- When you use "Ask BrahmAI", "Ask AI", "Send to …" or drop text on a Hub icon, BrahmiX puts only the text you selected on your clipboard or into a draft (for example an email draft), and opens the service. You decide whether to send it. "Ask BrahmAI" also puts your question in the BrahmAI page address so BrahmAI can fill it in.
- Services can show notifications only if you allow them.
- Microphone and camera are used only if you allow a service to use them.
2.6 "Report an issue"
"Report an issue" opens an email to support@brahmix.com in your email app or Hub, with your BrahmiX and Windows versions filled in. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself. We use what you send only to answer you and fix BrahmiX.
2.7 Crash reports (only if you agree)
When you first set up BrahmiX, it asks whether to send crash reports. The answer is "no" unless you tick the box, and you can change it at any time in Settings → Privacy and security → "Send crash reports to BrahmiX".
If you agree and BrahmiX crashes, it sends us a crash report: a snapshot of the part of BrahmiX that crashed at that moment (a "minidump"), with the BrahmiX version and your Windows version. Because it is a snapshot of memory, it can contain parts of the pages you had open, such as an address or some text. We use crash reports only to find and fix the fault, and we do not try to identify you from them. They are stored by our crash-reporting service, Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., United States), on our behalf, and kept for up to 90 days.
If you don't agree, crash reports stay on your computer and are never sent.
2.8 Websites you visit
Websites you visit receive what any browser sends (your IP address, the browser type and the data the site's own code collects). Their privacy policies apply.
3. What BrahmiX does not do
- No BrahmiX account, no advertising profile, no sale of personal data.
- No usage statistics are sent to us or to Google, and no crash reports unless you agree to send them to us (section 2.7).
- No reading of Hub chats, email or messages.
- No sign-in to Google in the browser itself is required or prompted.
4. The brahmix.com website
The website has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking, and it sets no cookies.
- Hosting. The pages are delivered by our host, Vercel Inc. To deliver them and protect the site from abuse, Vercel processes your IP address and the pages you request, and keeps short-lived technical logs.
- Everything else comes from brahmix.com. Fonts and pictures are served by the site itself; it loads nothing from Google or other companies.
- Downloads. The installer is downloaded from
updates.brahmix.com, as described in 2.1. - Light or dark theme. If you use the sun/moon button, the site remembers your choice in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Email. Emails to support@brahmix.com reach us through Cloudflare Email Routing. We use them only to answer you and improve BrahmiX, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
5. Your rights
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and other laws that may apply to you, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent. Because BrahmiX stores your browsing data on your own computer, most of it is under your control in BrahmiX's settings. For anything we hold (for example emails you sent us), contact support@brahmix.com.
6. Children
BrahmiX is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you are under 18, please use BrahmiX with the permission of a parent or guardian.
7. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and describe significant changes on this page.
